We have eaten here several times in recent months and absolutely love it! Their family fish-fry dinners on Friday are generous, well-prepared, and served with a very generous mountain of French fries. We love the menu and the food at this place, so here's hoping that all the fixable problems get fixed! More Portions were very generous and ingredients flavorful. My husband's clam's casino and sausage gnocchi were excellent, as was my chicken marsala. Thank goodness, the food made up for the personnel issues. They really need to fix that glitch and make it a more pleasant place. And this was early on during a Saturday evening. One other drawback: the ladies' room was borderline filthy and littered with strewn wadded up paper towels and toilet paper. The chef's annoyance was understandable, but the boisterous shouting of waitresses' names got a bit disconcerting while trying to enjoy dinner.

They seemed to delight in irritating him by congregating in the back of the building for chit-chatting with one another. chef had his hands full, not only with the cooking, but in trying to corral the errant waitresses to pick up their orders in a timely manner.

We were seated near the kitchen galley and got (and heard) a full view of the dynamics. On our most recent visit, it was the service and atmosphere which were a little lacking.

We had dinner here and again, the food was fantastic. Thank you to Maria & your staff for a big old serving of excellence.Ĭiao, Nicola Parisi & Liz Farrell, Albany, NY More Personal note: I've been eating Perreca's red tomato pie since I was able to reach the counter with my 10 cents. And no, we didn't intrude on their lunch. Maybe you can ask nicely a peek at their coal-fired brick oven where the magic happens. And stop next door at their original bakery since 1914. Attentive wait staff & a good job by the kitchen. Our wait person was the friendly Allison. We took a half of the eddplant & our desserts to go.Īn overall great value. Most definitely cooked properly by frying them twice. These fries were excellent - crunchy outside & fluffy inside. Sandwiches are served w/ parmigiana fries. I had Italian wedding soup, full of flavor & not salty, the muffaletta - prosciutto, capicola, mortadella, & provolone topped w/ their own olive salad (could have used a bit more on this large sandwich) and the dessert limoncello cheesecake. The eggplant was sliced surgically thin, tender & juicy piled high on a heel of their bread. My dearest had the salad, an eggplant sandwich on Perreca's famous crusty Italian bread, and the dessert galette w/ raspberries. It was a great value for an excellent lunch. (soup or salad), four entree choices, & 3 dessert choices. It was Schenectady's Restaurant week and they were offering a 3 course lunch for $20. We've been want to stop here for meal other than for their great breakfasts. Our visit to More Perraca's was for lunch Fri 4/08/22 2pm.
